New XD250U and XD280U

Mitsubishi is introducing two new portable projector models, ideal for a variety of business and education applications

Mitsubishi Electric’s Visual Information Systems division, a leading manufacturer of innovative, high quality display solutions has launched two new DLP™ projectors, the XD250U and XD280U. Complementing Mitsubishi’s current range of display products, the XD250U and XD280U, have been designed as flexible and versatile projectors for education and business installations.

Mitsubishi’s new XD250U and XD280U provide a complete presentation solution. A 10-watt audio speaker and variable audio output enables users to project both visual and audio content effectively. Furthermore subtitles can be used to enforce an audio presentation or as an aid for foreign language lessons or international meetings by utilizing the ‘closed caption’ function. Ideal for establishments with a number of these projectors both models can be connected to a central network allowing users to monitor and switch inputs as well as broadcast messages throughout classrooms or meeting rooms easily.

Producing vibrant images and crystal clear text both models utilize an XGA resolution (1024 x 768), a high contrast ratio of 2000:1 and feature 2700 ANSI lumens and 3000 ANSI lumens of brightness respectively. BrilliantColour™ technology optimizes the colour reproduction and uniformity and a 6 segment colour wheel also improves the vitality of colours by offering a wider colour spectrum. Furthermore a ‘wall screen’ function allows users to select specific surface colours and make automatic adjustments to the output settings, enhancing the quality of images.

Mitsubishi is continually looking at ways to improve energy consumption and reduce overall running costs; the XD250U and XD280U feature an energy saving standby mode and a long lamp life of up to 6000 hours (low mode). The filter free design of these projectors helps to reduce the amount of dust from entering the projector therefore minimizing maintenance issues, whilst an instant shut down function means users can always power down quickly and easily without causing damage to the unit.

Compact and weighing only 3.3kg both models are portable and come with a chain bar lock, making them safe to be left unattended. If users wish to mount the projector onto a ceiling, lamp replacements are simple with a top access loading area. Installation and operation is quick and easy with a new simplified ‘quick menu’ bar and digital keystone correction that allows users to make adjustments even when the projector has been ceiling mounted.

Wim van der Hoeven
, Netherlands Product Marketing Manager, said “We are excited to launch such flexible and dynamic projectors into the market, at such an affordable price. Replacing the XD510U and XD520U, our new XD250U and XD280U will be ideal for a variety of business and education applications.”

The new models come with a 3 year warranty on the projector and one year or 500 hours usage on the lamp. For official education institutions the warranty on the lamp is 3 years or 2000 hours (which ever come first)
